truly the amount of fiddling you can do with wordpress is astonishing, but, as i just found, if yr mp3’s aren’t encoded at a rate which is a multiple of 11 then you get the funny ‘chipmunk effect’ as above, so is best to go for 44, 22, 11 khz, depending on your quality and bandwidth constraints.

to achieve this end i used the glorious dmc conversion and rippage program but be sure to get yrself version 9 which is still freely available, and you won’t have all that hassle with registering it and paying for mp3 plugins etc, just google dmc r9, it’s the don. so anyway, i gave last year’s mix the encoding re-lick and here it bees…  it’s got a bit of a crinkling effect tho, which u sometimes get at low bitrates, not sure why this is, maybe it’s been recoded too many times???
